Finding a Representative

You have the option of representing yourself or you may wish to authorize a “formal” or “informal” representative to assist you when interacting with Medical Panels.

A formal representative may access information about your claim verbally, in writing, and/or in person. They have authority to make decisions on your behalf, can request a copy of your claim file, and will receive a copy of correspondence sent to you.

An informal representative is allowed to provide and/or receive information about your claim verbally through contact with Medical Panel employees. They do not have authority to make decisions on your behalf, cannot request a copy of your claim, and will not receive a copy of correspondence sent to you.

Who can be a representative?

A lawyer, union representative, independent consultant, friend, relative, or other individual may act as your representative.

If you choose to be represented by a lawyer or someone else who charges a fee, you will be responsible for paying that fee.
